Software Engineering I @ Alaan (YC '23)
Hi, I'mAlisha Sharma
Software Engineer · AI & Backend Systems · Blockchain Enthusiast
Software Engineering I at Alaan (YC '23), where I integrate LLMs into production APIs and ship payment & expense workflows. Previously interned at Ola Krutrim, Signzy, and Microsoft — building microservices, KYC platforms, and real-time data pipelines.

About
My Journey
From hackathons to YC startups — building systems that matter.

I'm a Software Engineer with a B.Tech in Electronics & Communication from LNMIIT (2021–2025). I started with real-time data systems at Microsoft, moved through fintech APIs at Signzy, enterprise microservices at Ola Krutrim, and now build production LLM integrations at Alaan — a Y Combinator-backed corporate expense platform.
At Alaan, I integrate Large Language Models into production APIs using LangSmith for observability and iteration. I design prompting strategies, structured response parsing, and latency-sensitive flows — while building scalable RESTful APIs for core payment and expense workflows. I work closely with product and AI teams to reduce manual effort across financial workflows.
I'm passionate about shipping reliable backend systems — from Go microservices and Kafka pipelines to LLM-powered automation. Winning Crack the Code 4.0 (Niti Aayog) taught me to build fast under pressure, and that mindset drives everything I ship today.

Featured Projects
Production systems, AI pipelines, and platforms I've built.
E-Learning Platform
Developed a platform for sharing course materials, live discussions, and collaboration — supporting 100+ users with a 90% engagement rate. Integrated JWT authentication for secure access and Socket.IO for real-time chat, improving collaboration speed by 50%.
LLM Production Integration
Integrated Large Language Models into production APIs, embedding AI capabilities within existing backend workflows using LangSmith for observability, evaluation, and iteration. Designed prompting strategies, structured response parsing, and latency-sensitive flows for reliability at scale.
AI Features
- · LLM integration into production APIs
- · LangSmith observability & evaluation
- · Structured response parsing & prompt optimization
DBaaS Microservices Platform
Designed and developed microservices in Go for the DBaaS platform — handling cluster provisioning, caching with Valkey, token refresh flows, and asynchronous status updates. Implemented AD/LDAP integration and contributed to a remote VM command execution system using Kafka and VNC.
Real-Time Data Ingestion System
Engineered a scalable real-time data ingestion system processing over 1,000 events/sec with near-zero data loss, reducing processing time from 36 hours to real-time. Designed a rule engine achieving 100% accuracy in data segregation with multithreaded concurrency.
Hackathons
Competitive Building
Hackathon wins and building under pressure.
Crack the Code 4.0
Innovative Backend Solution
Won Niti Aayog's Crack the Code 4.0 hackathon with an innovative backend solution, securing INR 100,000. Built and shipped a scalable system under competitive hackathon constraints.
